Install Instructions:

Unfortunately due to Blizzard's Classic Team (TM), they have made it tedious to get D2SE, a program to avoid version calamities, difficult to run depending on how you initially installed your game. Unfortunately the developer of D2SE has not been seen in a long time either, so the issue can't be directly remedied.

If you have installed Diablo 2 on any version before 1.14, and if you upgraded to any version, including 1.14 go to step 2.

If you have installed Diablo 2 on Blizzard's official installer, which should have 1.14, you unfortunately need to either uninstall Diablo, or make a duplicate folder, and reinstall following step 1.

1) Follow the steps found in this link. You must have a legitimate online CD key, which can be found on your Blizzard Account. https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofdiablo/comments/4b48oz/how_to_download_and_install_version_113/d160fdh/ Alternatively if you still have your CDs and a functional DVD drive, that will work too. You can upgrade to any version still with no trouble after.

2) Next, install D2SE https://snej.org/forum/index2.php?topic=18954.msg459574#msg459574 Please note that if you're on Windows 10, the mod may not launch correctly unless you set D2SE to run as Admin & Windows XP SP3 compatibility.

3) You should now have a MODS folder in your Diablo II folder. Place the Paradox folder inside the MODS folder. If you're having difficulty finding your Diablo II directory. It's usually found under Program Files (x86).

4) Launch D2SE, scroll down until you see a banner that says Paradox. Be sure that PlugY is turned off, as it is not compatible with this mod. Pick your poison between DDraw, D3D (untested and fullscreen only), or Glide (I personally reccomend), then click Launch Plugin.

FAQ:

Q) I missed the old black/purple life & mana orbs/potions. Can I revert these changes?

A) Go into the mod folder, in data\global\ui\panel. rename hlthmana.dc6 to something else, and rename hlthmanaBLACKPURPLE.dc6 to hlthmana.dc6
Then head into data\global\items. rename NewHealingPotion and NewManaPotion to something else, and rename NewHealingPotionBLACK and NewHealingPotionPURPLE to NewHealingPotion and NewManaPotion respectively.

Q) I would like to try out the new fonts! How do I enable them?

A) If you would like to change the fonts, go to the mod folder, in data\local\. There are two folders, fontAVQUEST and fontLATOBOLD. Example screenshots can be found in the folders. When you've decided on whichever one you like, rename either folder to: font. To disable it, simply rename the font folder to something else.

Q) Is Plugy Compatible with the mod?

A) Unfortunately no. However you do have a giant stash space, and tcp/ip still works.

Q)Why are monsters in Blood Moor immune to so many things? I can't kill anything!

A)Did you notice the blue & gold emblem in your inventory? That will help you out.

Q)The sound is bugging out and some aren't playing anymore. What's wrong?

A)Restart the game and report this to our forums or discord. Mention what were you doing, more specifically if theres a specific sound that played a lot until this bug occured for you.

Q)Why am I crashing when I change resolutions?

A)A known issue, if you change it too much it causes a crash.

Q)Why does the Necromancer and Sorceress only have changed skills?

A)The mod is currently in Alpha, we're working on completely finishing one class at a time. Each class will get their share of changes overtime, the focus right now is on the Sorceress.

Q)I found an item that says MORPHED in red text. What does that mean?

A)It means you cannot use cube reagents, such as Orbs of Prophecy, to further upgrade an item. Some rings that you may find have this. If you wish to use an Orb of Prophecy on an item, use it on another item base.
